This makeup review is all about the color purple.  No, not with Oprah, I’m talking about the brand new Norvina eyeshadow palette, from Anastasia Beverly Hills.  With our purple Ankara & Satin Scarf on, I dug into the new eye palette to see if its formula lived up to other ABH palettes, and just how the colors would come through on my brown skin.  I’m always on the lookout for quality makeup for black women.

ABH New Norvina Palette, Liquid Glow, Swatches and DemoSo, the Norvina palette boasts 7 shimmer eyeshadows and 7 matte eyeshadows.  It’s the most shimmers in an eyeshadow Anastasia palette to date.  Norvina, the daughter of Anastasia, curated this palette with some of her absolute favorite colors.  She wanted to show the playful side of makeup, but still give colors that are more relatable.

I particularly wanted to know if I’d find the quality, pigmentation and color payoff of the Soft Glam palette, that I love so much.  All three boxes were ticked, as the Norvina palette is just as quality as other Anastasia makeup.  With just a touch of the brush, you get so much color payoff.   ABH New Norvina Palette, Liquid Glow, Swatches and DemoI wanted to play with the pinks and purples, a combination I never really do, because I feel it can go kiddy, quickly.  The initial shades that stood out to me were a matte grayish/lilac purple eyeshadow and the deep eggplant shimmer.  Even the bright pink shimmer, that scared me initially, made me a believer.   The shimmers also look beautiful alone, covering your whole eye.  It gives a perfectly tasteful bit of sparkle to a summer look.  As for price, I think it is justified, because you need very little of each pigmented eyeshadow, that it should last you for some time.

ABH New Norvina Palette, Liquid Glow, Swatches and DemoAs for the new Liquid Glow, in rose gold, it is gorgeous.  I’m quite the fan of a liquid highlighter, because it looks like a second skin.  You don’t have to worry about any chunkiness, or residue that some powder illuminator makeup can leave.  You do need a little more time to work in a liquid highlighter, but to me, it’s more than worth it.  This Liquid Glow blends in like a dream.  I advise using your finger.  There really is something about the warmth of the finger that makes blending in a liquid highlighter easier.ABH New Norvina Palette, Liquid Glow, Swatches and Demo  You also want to start with a little and then build it up.  Because a little goes a long way, you don’t want to waste, or mess your makeup up, that late in your routine.  So, start with a little and add as you like.   The quality of this highlighter is just as impressive as the other Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighter I have, that is a powder.

I topped my look off with the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in Hudson and the lip gloss in Gilded.
