There had been some debate about the shade range, and just what a bronzer does. Fenty Beauty released two colors for each foundation grouping. So, two for the 400’s, 300’s, 200’s and the 100’s. Because some didn’t realize bronzers are meant to warm, not define, they were left unhappy. I think for a brand as young as Fenty Beauty to release eight bronzers, the first time out, is amazing. Can they do better? Of course!! What brand can’t? But I think they gave many women lots of options with this thought.
I wear the Pro Filt’r foundation in 350, and thought Bajan Gyal would be a good match. It is!! It swatched orange, but on the face, it gives very natural looking warmth to my face. I actually like to use bronzer as contour, and while this color definitely gave my cheeks some definition, a darker shade would work great as contour. As for a bronzer, I wouldn’t want anything darker. It was just the right amount of warmth that I could get away with all year round.
The consistency is smooth. It doesn’t take much for color to show on the skin. It is not chalky. It’s a really strong bronzer. The packaging on these bronzers is beautiful. It is in the classic Fenty Beauty honeycomb shape, that their Killawatt highlighters are in, but the cover is a beautiful bronze color, not white like the highlighters.
As for the new Killawatt in Afternoon Snack/Mo Hunny, it’s a stunning champagne gold color, and then a kicked up champagne cold color. Afternoon Snack is the more subdued of the two. It’s beautiful, and alone will give you a more natural, subtle glow. It’s a color that any skin tone will be able to wear, for sure. Whether on the cupid’s bow, or nose, it gives just the right amount of shine. Mo Hunny will take your glow to another level. That is one you must proceed with caution with. I like to apply this color just on the apple of my cheeks. It adds the most beautiful dimension, with Afternoon Snack applied up the cheek to the forehead. It’s a beautiful way to play with levels of glow, and change how the sun will hit different parts of the cheeks.
Killawatts are considered the best highlighter makeup for many, but should be handled with caution, in general. Start with a little and then build up to the intensity you want. This does not sit on top the cheeks, which is important in a glow, is extremely pigmented and you get a nice amount, so it should last you for some time. A bonus is, they look beautiful on the eyes.
Rihanna and Fenty have hits with their bronzers and new Killawatt.
