got my hands on the new Pat McGrath Mothership V Bronze Seduction eyeshadow palette, and you can’t tell me anything! Some makeup reviews get you just a little more excited than others, and this is one of the, so let’s chat!
These Pat McGrath eyeshadow palettes are quite coveted. In fact, Mothership IV was limited edition, leaving some of us still angry we missed out. I’m secretly hoping it’s rereleased, so I can grab one. They have become a collector’s item, for many, many women. So, what I’m getting at is, Pat McGrath eye palette releases are always one of the most anticipated makeup releases. With my red Satin Lined Beanie on, ready for the occasion, I dug in.
Pat McGrath Labs is a luxury brand, so with that come luxurious expectations. This Mothership V palette comes in a beautiful box, with PMGL’ signature art, which is on all their eye palettes. Inside the box sits the beautiful black case, with the simple, “PMGL” lettering in gold. It’s sleek, it’s sexy, it’s luxurious.
This palette is not lightweight. An incredible, beveled mirror, adds weight to this 10 pan palette, but it’s also the best mirror I’ve seen in an eyeshadow palette. The back of the palette boasts a gold-colored metal plate, partially inscribedwith the fun warning, “Use Without Caution Shade Throwing And Eye Ecstasy May Result With Prolonged Use.”

No stone was left unturned. Everything about the presentation lets you know, this is not your average shadow experience. This Mothership palette has 3 matte shades and 7 shimmers/glitters/satins. The quality of this pigmented eyeshadow palette is as divine as Pat is. A simple dip into an individual pan leaves enough color on the brush for such exquisite color payoff. Pat McGrath spent a lot of time making sure she created eyeshadows that would suit any skin color.
It was important for her that no matter your shade, her eyeshadows would show up on you. Its formula is what sets her shadows apart from others!
There are a few gold shadows, including a stunning rose gold eyeshadow. One might wonder why there are so many golds, but the truth is, no two are alike. The gold shadows are quite deceptive. The one white colored one reveals itself to be a gold eyeshadow, when applied to the skin. Another gold swatches green with gold. Another is copper. So, you’ve got lots of options when it comes to the sparkle and shine of this pigmented eyeshadow palette.
Surely one of the standout shadows is the stunning and rich red shimmer shadow. She is lush and beautiful. She even gives flickers of fuchsia. I don’t wear red shadows, but this red won me over.
Overall, you can get lots of different looks with these shadows. If you are someone who likes lots of mattes, or an even number of mattes and shimmers, you may not love this eye palette. This is one is for the woman who likes a shimmer eyeshadow palette to add some shine to her life. But in terms of quality, you can’t beat a Pat McGrath eyeshadow palette. And, hand to God, I had no fallout, which speaks to its quality and how finely milled the shadows are.
To complement the red shadow, which was the star of my look, I chose the Mattetrance Flesh 3 lipstick, a rich red color, and topped it with the Lust 4 gloss, which is a deeper red. If you’ve never had a Pat McGrath lipstick or gloss, do yourself a favor and grab one. The lipsticks feel like suede on your lips, and once on, you don’t even remember you’re wearing anything. The glosses are lush, with incredible shine and nothing sticks to them. You will be safe on a windy day!
One of my favorite things about PMGL products is they make me want to get adventurous. They bring out my creativity and remind me that makeup is meant to be fun.
