I recently tried 10 Rephr Brushes , the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation and the Luminous Silk Concealer.  Rocking our Breezy Tee Khaki Satin Lined Beanie, I dug in.

Rephr is an interesting business.  Their makeup brushes were basically made for the beauty community, and with the community’s input.  I believe at their launch, they would give brushes away for reviews.  Even now, they have a lot of incentives to buy their brushes.  I took advantage of a Black Friday deal.  I was sent a coupon for the exact amount I spent on brushes.  So, once I purchased my brushes, I was able to get more with a voucher.  So, in total, I got 10 brushes.

These fude brushes, with natural hair bristles, are handmade in Kumano, Japan, and you can get them customized.  I wanted all black handles.  They come in silver and black as well.  You can also get eye brushes for hooded eyes, which I did.  They also ask if you prefer a more natural makeup look, or not.  I only prefer natural makeup.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation 8.75The color was a tad bit darker than I normally wear, but still works with my complexion.  It is a medium to full coverage foundation, with a watery consistency.  It dries quickly, and leaves the skin with a natural glow.  One pump would typically be enough for me, but two pumps gives really nice coverage without looking cakey.  It also covered up dark spots, around my chin, nicely.  Really happy with this foundation, and it comes in many shades, which is important for us women with brown skin.   It worked beautifully with the Rephr brush.

Georgio Armani Silk Luminous Concealer 7.5--This is a full coverage concealer.  This shade, against the foundation is perfect!  It brightens, it covers and it leaves the undereye are beautifully luminous.  As someone who gets dark circles sometimes, and has gotten a couple of fine lines, concealer has become an important product as I age.  It can hide a multitude of sins, and this one is a really lovely concealer for my maturing under eyes.

REPHR FACE BRUSHES

Brush #17— This is a flat head foundation brush.  In person, it was much smaller than I thought it would be, but beautiful.  The all black, matte, handles are so incredibly chic, and all these brushes are so soft.  The size didn’t matter, in the end.  It blended the foundation out quickly, and beautifully.  I actually loved the size, as it was easy to get in the nooks and crannies with ease.  Really beautiful brush that I will get lots of use out of.

Brush # 18–This is a small cheek brush, perfect for highlight, contour or setting powder.  I used this one for setting powder under my eye.  It’s incredibly soft, which is perfect for the under eye area, and is small enough to get the setting powder to the fine lines. I also used this brush for applying highlighter.  It performed BEAUTIFULLY, mostly because it picks up a modest amount of product, so your cheeks are not overwhelmed with highlighter.  You can’t mess up with this brush.  You can build your highlighter subtly, and feel confident you won’t do too much.  LOVE THIS BRUSH!

Brush # 4–This is an angled, fluffy brush that is perfect for bronzer/contour application.  It can also be used for blush or even highlight.  I love this for contour.  The angled shape allows it to hug my cheekbones, and distribute product quickly.  It does not pick up too much product.  Perfect brush for different things.

Brush #19–This brush is sloped on all sides.  It is a very interesting shape.  I used it for a cream highlighter, and it too performed beautifully. It is another versatile brush, that can be used many ways.  I got a slow buildup of product, so again, there was no real way to mess up the application.

Brush #5–This is a super fluffy brush, making it impossibly soft.  It is perfect for blush and other cheek work.  I used it for blush, and once again, because of the amount of product it picks up, I was able to build color gradually, without overdoing it.  This is a special one.

REPHER EYE BRUSHES

Brush # 1–This is the perfect brush to give the whole eye area a wash of color.  Super soft, perfect for powder and creams.  It is apparently great for spot concealing too, something I will have to try, as well as detail highlighting.  I actually loved using this to distribute highlighter down my nose.  It is the perfect size.

Brush # 2–This shader brush is very, very nice.  It packs product on the lid with ease, and is gorgeous for distributing shadow underneath the eyes.  It gets so close to the water line, I was able to get the smoky look I wanted.  The brush is also soft, and perfect for those of us who find putting eye products that close to the eyes a bit irritating.  Really nice one.

Brush #3— This one is an extremely fine pencil brush.  If you need precise application, this is your brush.  So far, I’ve only used it in my tear ducts, and it was spot on.  Really, really precise.  Looking forward to trying it on the lash line.

Brush #14– This is a perfect crease brush for hooded eyes.  It is small, and it is tapered, making it perfect to really work shadow into the crease, precisely.  It blends out beautifully as well.  I really, really like this brush!

Brush # 16–I love a large crease brush, and that is what this brush is. I love to use this one to blend, so there are not harsh lines.  It also works perfectly to give the eye a wash of one color.  So, this is a multi-use brush.

These Rephr makeup brushes took a few months to arrive, because they are handmade and can be personalized. They also have ready to order brushes.  I am very happy with how these brushes perform.  They are soft, they are precise, and they get me in an out.  I couldn’t be happier.

I’d be remiss not to mention how beautiful looking they are.  The all black, matte, finish makes them look really chic, and luxurious.  They come in a box, that you can store the brushes in.  They are luxury brushes, and an investment, but considering the brushes can be used in different ways, for powders and creams, you will get your money’s worth!
