The Westman Atelier Lip Suede and Lip Brush are here. Over the holidays, I picked up a second Vital Skin Foundation, in XI this time and the Foundation Brush. I’m getting into all of these products for this blog. Wearing our gorgeous Breezy Tee Red Wine Boho Headband, I dug in.
The Lip Suede is Westman Atelier’s first true lip product. Yes, you can wear your Baby Cheeks on your lips, but that is an additional way you can use them.
There are four lipstick shades, Fuchsia, Brick, Tomato Red and Warm Dusty Rose. On first glance, it absolutely looks like the same texture of suede, making the aptly named “Lip Suede” the perfect choice. Now, I am a self-professed nude lipstick gal, so I was intimidated by the photos of this product. I thought surely it would be too bright for me, but I stepped outside my comfort zone, and I’m so glad I did.
The Lip Brush is handmade in Kumano Japan, and has the Westman Atelier Matte matte to glossy handles the other brushes do. Sleek, sleek, design. I’m not a lipstick brush girl, because I typically apply straight from the bullet, but boy this brush is beautiful, and effective. I ended up preferring the brush to my fingers for this Lip Suede. I used less product, and the brush was so precise. Instant fan, and it’s the perfect size to pick up product, without also swiping into another color. I can’t say the same for my finger. Lol.
Westman Atelier Lip Suede
Fuchsia is a perfect lipstick shade for my brown skin. I’ve never loved bright red lips on me, but somehow that bit of pink made all the difference. It was love at first swipe. This is a stunning, bold color, for the woman who wants a little drama on her lips. I think it will suit many, many skin tones. I used my finger to apply, and that is a great option for applying these lip colors. I think this is my standout shade, because it was the biggest surprise.
Brick is a red lippie with a more brown tone to it. If I’m going to do a red lipstick, I feel most comfortable with this kind of red. It didn’t feel like too much. It again suited my skin beautifully. The texture of these lip shades is beyond creamy. It feels so moisturizing and hydrating, it’s incredibly pleasant on the lips.
The Tomato Red is a bright one. This is for the woman who loves to make a statement with her lip color. It man not be my favorite hue on me, but I surprisingly didn’t mind it as much as I thought I would. It is a beautiful shade that is incredibly pigmented. Even I can’t deny how stunning the right red lip, on the right woman, is!
The Warm Dusty Rose was a pleasant surprise, because they snuck a nude in there. Lol. My nude loving lips were very happy to see it. It’s a beautiful color, with and without a lip pencil. It’s also a shade that plays well with others.
Mixing the Dusty rose and Fuchsia shades, created the most divine purple/pink shade. This leads me to the best bonus with this Lip Suede, you can mix and match until your lips are content. I look forward to taking that tomato shade and making it work for me. The possibilities are endless!
Westman Atelier Lip Suede
The Lip Suede comes in the most decadent, bright, red compact. Westman Atelier means business when it comes to giving us luxury, and you never have to look any further than their packaging. This one is stunning. The choice to put the lipsticks in a compact was also a bold choice.
A few standout ingredients are marula oil, cherry oil, peptides that help boost colagen and hydration, and more. Because Westman Atelier is a clean beauty brand, finding the healthiest ingredients that perform is a top priority for them.
The Vital Skin Foundation in XI is as lovely as X, which is my foundation shade. I use XI for contouring, and will use it in the summer, when I need a bit of a darker foundation shade. Beautiful ingredients, that leaves my skin with the best, natural, glow.
I also recently purchased the brand’s Foundation Brush. It too is beautiful, and also handmade in Kumano, Japan. It’s a synthetic flat, or paddle brush. I love the shorter handle, and it blends out smoothly. Turning it on its side allows me to reach more tricky places.
Another gorgeous Westman Atelier launch!
